Are you looking for help to better navigate life with bipolar disorder? Join this ongoing, weekly therapy group to optimize your mood, functioning, and quality of life!

WHAT? You will learn skills from research-based therapies, including psychoeducation, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), social rhythm therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Each month we emphasize one set of skills, such as:

  • behavioral strategies (e.g., opposite-emotion-action; values clarification)

  • cognitive defusion

  • cognitive restructuring

  • acceptance and willingness strategies

  • mindfulness

  • sleep strategies

  • mood charting

  • relapse-prevention plans

You and your fellow group members will support each other in using these skills in your everyday life. Each group session includes review/practice of a skill and time for sharing and support.

WHEN? Thursdays 10:30-11:50am MT.

WHERE? Any private location -- in Colorado or a Psypact state -- with high-speed internet for video conferencing.

COST: $75 per session per group member, pre-paid monthly.

WANT TO LEARN MORE? The on-boarding process is as follows:

  1. Read the Group Consent and Policies (especially the first 3 pages) to find answers to frequently asked questions. If the logistics (e.g., meeting time, cost, group structure) work for you...

  2. Contact me for a brief (5-10 minute) phone call so we can determine if it makes sense to schedule a screening interview (or add you to a waiting list). Once we schedule an interview...

  3. Complete the paperwork before you...

  4. Attend a screening interview. In this virtual appointment we will (a) review your paperwork; (b) determine your eligibility for group; and (c) decide together if there is a good fit between your goals and the group structure and content. We may also review the group groundrules. Screening sessions are typically 50 minutes long and will be billed at $210/50-minutes, pro-rated for other durations.

  5. With your written permission, I may talk to your established treatment providers (e.g., individual therapist; psychiatric prescriber) before making a final determination about your eligibility.

  6. If you are eligibile and choose to join the group, we will decide together on the best start-date (usually, but not always, the first Thursday of a month). If we decide that the group isn't right for you at this time, I will do my best to provide you with referrals to suitable services (e.g., individual or family therapists; self-help groups).
