Specialist in Mood and Sleep Disorders

Alisha L. Brosse, Ph.D.

Licensed Psychologist

I am a licensed psychologist who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapies for a wide range of presenting problems, especially mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), sleep disorders (insomnia, circadian rhythm disturbances, CPAP intolerance), and anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety). I am also passionate about helping people implement “lifestyle medicine” (nutrition, exercise, etc) to optimize their mental health. I provide therapy services to adult individuals, families, and groups. I help to educate the public in my role as a consultant for the Colorado Bipolar Education Project and as an invited speaker for community organizations. I am also regularly engaged in training professionals of all levels, including pre-doctoral practicum students, postdoctoral candidates for licensure, and licensed behavioral health providers. I am the co-author of the workbook End the Insomnia Struggle: A Step-by-Step Guide to Help You Get to Sleep and Stay Asleep (New Harbinger Publications, 2016), which blends traditional cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia (CBTi) with acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) strategies.

I received my doctorate in psychology (PhD) from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000. I completed a one-year predoctoral internship at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, and then trained for two years at Duke University Medical Center, where I researched treatments for depression and provided psychological services to patients with life-threatening medical illnesses. Upon my return to Boulder in 2002, I established my private practice and began an 18-year stint directing a bipolar disorder specialty clinic, the Robert D. Sutherland Center for the Evaluation and Treatment of Bipolar Disorder. In 2025, I took a leap and moved my practice to the small mountain community of Edwards, CO. I provide therapy in person in my office in Riverwalk, and via telehealth for those who live elsewhere in Colorado or in any Psypact state.
